Local Roads Speed Change Impact Assessment
Hadron Group has prepared the following report, which examines a question that frequently shapes community debate around road safety reform: how much extra time do lower speed limits actually add to everyday journeys?
This is a pilot study in which Hadron Group selected Randwick LGA for this purpose. The local Council did not request the report, nor did they participate in the selection of the speed change options or the development of the report.
Using Hadron's Safer Speeds Simulator, the analysis modelled approximately 26,500 trips across Randwick LGA under three 40 km/h intervention scenarios, benchmarked against current posted limits.
The report provides councils, planners, and community stakeholders with a transparent, data-driven basis for evaluating residential speed-limit changes at an LGA or suburb level.
